Legal Information
Cookie Notice
This notice explains the cookies and similar technologies currently used by BeLocal across the public site and application. At the moment, we do not run analytics, advertising, or marketing cookies by default on ordinary visits.
1. How we use cookies and similar technologies
We use only a narrow set of technologies needed to operate sign-in and to remember an optional appearance preference that you explicitly choose in the app. We do not use advertising cookies, cross-site tracking pixels, or analytics cookies on normal page loads at this time.
2. Cookie and storage inventory
| Name | Type | Where used | Purpose | Duration | Category |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
AccessToken |
HTTP cookie | Application sign-in flow | Keeps an authenticated user signed in and allows protected API requests. | Up to 2 days, or until logout/invalidation | Strictly necessary |
theme |
Local storage | Application UI only | Remembers a light or dark theme after you manually change the appearance toggle. | Until changed or cleared by the user | User-requested preference |
3. Why you do not see a cookie consent banner today
Under the current setup, BeLocal is designed to rely on strictly necessary authentication cookies and a locally stored appearance preference only when you choose it. Because we are not currently placing non-essential analytics or advertising cookies on ordinary visits, we do not present a consent banner by default.
If we later introduce non-essential technologies, we will update this notice and collect consent before activating them where the law requires it.
4. Managing cookies and local storage
- You can end the authenticated session by logging out of the application.
- You can clear cookies and browser storage using your browser settings.
- You can remove the saved theme preference by clearing the
themevalue in local storage.
